2019 Chris King Open House Bike
The Chris King Open House is a great event. I’m grateful to be included as one of the featured builders. The show is a fun opportunity to pull out all of the stops and create an extra special bike. I’m especially stoked with how this year’s bike came together. First, the new limited run Matte Bourbon color is fantastic! Starting with this color, we developed a custom finish to work just right with it on this special Gravel Bike.
to pair I’ve been building mixed terrain bikes for a long time, but as parts have evolved we are at a really sweet spot for Gravel bikes. With dedicated parts from Shimano and Sram the rider can select from wider gear ranges in a single or double ring setup, with specialty cranksets, wider rims, better brakes, more tire options, and even specialty handlebar shapes.
The amazing, wireless Sram AXS system has a wide range 12 speed cassette with a clutch derailleur for less noise and no chain drops. The Enve gravel fork has generous clearance, handling the 700x45mm WTB Riddler tires beautifully. The Enve Gravel bar, with a flared design that keeps the hoods in the right spot for comfortable and familiar access to the controls and having added width when in the drops.
