Covey’s super special steel shred sled.
Here’s some text from Covey about the inspiration for the bike:
Thanks for the best bike ever and the memories of my grandma!
In 1985 my grandma “ran” the bay to breakers race in San Francisco. In a perpetual cherub-like body, she was not the model of fitness, but I admired her motivation. Half way across the Golden Gate Bridge she had a panic attack and an ambulance path had to be cleared to pick her up. My grandma died this year and in addition to an amazing lifetime of memories I was left with her commemorative t-shirt from the race. The colors and design were so perfectly 1985 and in small text it ironically reads “I survived!”. As a tribute to this adventurous, quirky, and one of a kind woman, John and Peter put together the most amazing paint scheme modeled after the shirt. Paired with a custom fit and amazing contemporary geometry, this steel 29er singlespeed shred-monster is my favorite ride… and reminds me of a dear old-woman who, always young at heart, taught me how to push my limits and explore the wonders of this beautiful world!
Steel! Stainless steel Paragon Rocker dropouts mount the brake caliper directly, allow for single speed or geared use (with a different insert that has a derailleur hanger), anodized titanium bolts on the dropouts, offset seat tube allows for shorter chainstays while still using a triple butted Columbus Zona seat tube, stealth dropper routing, adaptable cable routing with replaceable guides for single speed or geared, new school geometry with long top tube, short stem, wide bars, reduced head angle make for a very capable bike while remaining nimble and putting the rider in a comfortable and efficient pedaling position.
